Scripps Mesa Fireworks Announces Postponement of 4th of July Fireworks for 2020

This year has certainly not proceeded the way we anticipated. We sincerely hope that you and your family have been able to keep safe and healthy during this tumultuous time.

On April 22, Mira Mesa Town Council officially announced that they are ceasing preparations for a 4th of July Celebration as the restrictions on social gatherings are likely necessary throughout the summer. Scripps Mesa Fireworks, as the organizer of the 4th of July Fireworks, must make the same difficult decision. We must prioritize the safety of the community over our desire to put on a fireworks show this 4th of July.

We are still working diligently to purse all options to celebrate this year. While we cannot make any guarantees, our belief is that if there is a chance to gather and celebrate in 2020, we want to be part of that celebration.

To everyone who has donated, we want to assure you that your generous donation is safe and that we have not lost any funds due to this decision. If we cannot hold a show in 2020, we will use all money towards the 2021 4th of July Show.

As always, you can follow our social media posts and website to keep up with Scripps Mesa Fireworks.

We want to thank you again for your continued support of your local fireworks show. It is this support that has allowed fireworks to be part of the community for 45 years. We ask you to remain safe during this time and we hope that you will join us when we can all gather again.
